Blessing the Children (Interlude)

from Shavat by Natalie Kendel

about

(Psalm 127:3, Matthew 19:14)

According to the Jewish tradition, it is customary to bless your children on the Sabbath (Friday night). The blessing prescribed by tradition invokes names of the patriarchs and matriarchs, and God's continued guidance, as he was with those before us.
Parents may use this intimate moment as a chance to add their own words of blessing and offer expressions of love and appreciation to their children. They can be done publicly, privately, or individually. Children are very central to the Jewish and Christian faith, and were highly important to Jesus. In fact, he said that unless we become like children, we cannot enter his Kingdom.

An interlude between the first part and second part of the double album.
