about

(Mark 2:27, John 7:21-24)

Inspired by the words of Jesus: "The Sabbath was made for mankind, not mankind for the Sabbath". In other words, human beings were not made in order to serve the day, but rather the day was made to benefits human beings. This should influence how we approach the day and its observance - not with a hedonistic approach, but with one seeking rest and the Lord of that day.

lyrics

A privilege, a benefit
An honour and intimate gift
An open door for everyone:
both for Jews and Gentiles

Not meant to be a drudgery
Not designed to be a task
For it's Maker did not plan
to make Sabbath a burden

The Sabbath was made for mankind,
not mankind made for the Sabbath
The Sabbath was made for mankind,
not mankind made for the Sabbath

So the Son of Man is the Lord of the Sabbath
is the Lord of the Sabbath
So the Son of Man is the of the Sabbath
is the Lord of the Sabbath

The Sabbath was made for mankind,
not mankind made for the Sabbath
The Sabbath was made for mankind,
not mankind made for the Sabbath

So the Son of Man is the Lord of the Sabbath
is the Lord of the Sabbath
So the Son of Man is the of the Sabbath
is the Lord of the Sabbath

If you think you guard this day
by burdening another soul
See! It's set apart for that
very soul to be restored!

The Sabbath was made for mankind,
not mankind made for the Sabbath
The Sabbath was made for mankind,
not mankind made for the Sabbath

So the Son of Man is the Lord of the Sabbath
is the Lord of the Sabbath
So the Son of Man is the of the Sabbath
is the Lord of the Sabbath
